When using Console 8 on networked machines, one option is to configure a standalone machine then capture and deploy an Image to the others in the classroom/lab. Alternatively, the latest version of Console 8 allows you to deploy the Exam System & configure the machines to update across the LAN:
- Identify, designate and configure a machine (that has a static IP Address) as the “Console Server”.
- Once the Exam Content has been installed on the "Console Server", Deploy Console 8 to the Testing Machines, using the "&lhaddr" and "&lhport" switches to configure the "Console Client" settings. You should also use these switches to configure details like the CATC Name/Number and optional settings like Proxy and/or Admin (Impersonation) Credentials.
- You can configure "Console Client" settings manually - refer to the LAN Updates page.
- We recommend that you regularly run Diagnostic/Configuration Exams for the respective Applications, approximately 48 hours before scheduled Exam sessions.
